Brief Encounters Steph played by Sophie Rundle – pictures
Brief Encounters Steph played by Sophie Rundle,
Monday 4th of July saw the start of ITV's new Monday night drama Brief Encounters. It's the tale of four women in England who turn to Anne Summers to make some money and as no doubt will develop spice up their sex and love lifes.
The first episode focused mainly on Sophie Rundles character Steph, her relationship with her partner Terry, her blossoming friendship with Nita and her beginnings nervously as a Anne Summers party rep.
It was indeed a good watch with some good characters played by seasoned TV actors such as Penelope Wilton, Peter Wright, Angela Griffin, Karl Davies among others. Sharon Rooney coming to mainstream channels along with Will Merrick who I last saw play Steve Davis.
Set in 1982 it's good to see some memories from our youth like a Ford Escort police car. Another feature of Brief Encounters was some good music with the programme finishing with Ultravox's Vienna, surely one of the best songs to never get to number 1.
So Monday nights looks like 9pm has something to offer for the remaining 5 weeks.
You can catch Brief Encounters on ITV Player and STV Player.
