Reports in The Sun say that Stephen and Chris have been offered around £500,000 to appear in Channel 5 Celebrity Big Brother, but will they.  The two hairdressers are a strong part of the Gogglebox winning formula with their witty banter both general chit chat and also their views on the programmes we watch during the week.

It's well known that for appearing on Gogglebox the appearance fee is limited to pretty much food and drink on the night.  So would two people the public love jump ship and appear on Celebrity Big Brother. For the money who would blame them.  Channel 4 appear to be restrictive as to what people from Goggle box can do.  Steph and Dom have done a few interview programmes one featuring Nigel Farrage.  Stephen and Chris have done the EE advert with Kevin Bacon and also appeared in The Million Pund Drop with Davina McCall.

George Gilbey and family were ditched from Gogglebox when he went on Celebrity Big Brother, a mistake which many a fan would agree.  The Gilbey family fit what the Gogglebox viewers like and few replacement sofa sitters have had much appeal since.  The Gilbey's coming back has been a welcome return by many viewers.

It's strange that Channel 4 can hold people to exclusivity and yet Claire Balding floats between BBC and Channel 4.

I for one hope that if Stephen and Chris are able to have their cake and eat it, though I am not a Celebrity Big Brother fan.
